Kelty residents will be delighted that work has begun to address the eyesore that sat on one of the main entrances into the village at Cocklaw Street.

A full description and detail of the works can be found on the Fife Council web site http://planning.fife.gov.uk/online/pagedSearchResults.do?action=page&searchCriteria.page=2   under the planning application headed “Alterations and extension to derelict building to form shop (Class 1)”

The proposal is to make alterations to the existing building including a complete facelift to the front of the building making it more attractive given its location and a single story extension on the rear of the building with car parking spaces to form a shop (Class 1) including the instillation of a cash machine. As the plans show, the majority of the existing building is being demolished to make way for the new store. The details are at the link above which is the Fife Council website where you will find the approved application under planning just search Kelty.
