The people who we support are very worried about what the next weeks and months might hold. Around one in five people in Scotland are living with chest, heart and stroke conditions, and they are at much higher risk of complications from the coronavirus.
What are we doing?
We’ve been busy getting new or updated advice and guidance onto our website at www.chss.org.uk/coronavirus, and our Advice Line nurses are there to help with any questions that people have. We’re preparing for a significant increase in calls, particularly when people are unable to get to their normal support services or community groups.
Today we’ve also launched our Scotland against Coronavirus campaign, calling on people to help through their smartphone. We want people to use their social networks to make a difference, sharing details of where to get advice and support while the NHS is under extreme pressure, and to send people messages of support.
How can you help?
Please add your support to the campaign and help us reach as many people as possible.
If you know anyone who is worried or concerned about any aspect of living with their health condition at this difficult time, please advise them to contact our free Advice line on 0808 801 0899. Our Advice Line nurses are there to lend a friendly ear, and to help with any questions or concerns, no matter how big or small.
