This week I met with Fife Councils Executive Director of Enterprise and Environment and raised with him the issues surrounding the former Yard bar in Rosyth.

Specifically he agreed to have the building inspected again as the council had told me there was no safety risks but I did point out that after visiting the site this week there are some parts of the roof that have fallen off and bits hanging over.

The council said said they would in the short term have the area cleaned up. Looking to the longer term I have asked for an update on where progress is being made with the Fleet Grounds which the council purchased over a year ago with the intention of making sure this facility was available for the many sports teams within the town. If the Juniors were to be relocated to this or another site then the football ground behind the Yard along with the wider area council be master planned for a modern development that would greatly enhance this part of Rosyth.

I have been given an assurance that work is on going to develop this kind of approach and I will continue to push for progress month by month till we are able to get a more definite commitment to specific action on this area.
