I recently hosted a public meeting in Dunfermline on the overnight closures of the Fife out of hours services. This was a joint meeting with Shirley-Anne Somerville and myself, and featured a presentation from Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.
The meeting was well attended and lots of people were raising serious concerns about the future of our out of hours services as well as the state of our health care system itself.
Recurring themes of people worried about the training and recruitment of enough staff, as well as the increasing demand placed on the service. Many people at the meeting were saying they are feeling let down.
I also recently raised the issue in the Scottish Parliament directly with the Health Minister, and you can see her response below:
