MOD Should Not Scrap Rosyth Shipbuilding Contract

Following the reported news that the UK Government is considering either scrapping or reducing the previously announced £2.5bn shipbuilding project to build five new Type 32 frigates at the naval dockyards in Rosyth; I have written to the Secretary of State for Defence asking for clarification on the matter and calling on him to not put thousands of jobs at risk in Fife and across the wider Scottish economy.

Moves such as this only serves to remove trust in the UK Government and it’s supposed commitment to shipbuilding in Rosyth and indeed across Scotland.
