This years Lochgelly gala was a massive success with many children taking part in the parade and the fancy dress. It was great to see so many of the residents in the town turn out in such high numbers for the parade and indeed the brilliant day that followed in the Public Park.
What was clear from all the stalls and community groups involved is that Lochgelly has a thriving community spirt with lots of activity and people involved.
I would want to thank all those local people who gave up their time to make the gala such a success and all those who are involved in driving the towns community regeneration programme forward.
Fife Provost and Lochgelly boy Jim Leishman asked me to join him in judging the fancy dress and we made the point to everyone who entered that they were all winners and therefore well done to each and every child who took part.
